Software development firm Active Modules has unveiled Active Purchase - a completely customizable ecommerce module for small businesses looking to launch an online retail outlet.
Its key features include an order history function, invoice creation, statistical reports and customer management tools, such as discounts and coupons. It comes equipped with custom wizard steps and Active Modules promises to provide dedicated support.
The South Carolina-based manufacturer says that its tool is able to securely handle PayPal and credit card transactions.
To function, however, Active Purchase requires the free web application DotNetNuke, which allows online retailers to create and deploy commercial websites, publishing portals and custom vertical applications.
Active Modules client Jeff Smith, of the firm Venexus, commented: "We were excited when we heard that Active Modules was releasing a new module to handle PayPal and credit card transactions. When compared to other solutions in the market, Active Purchase greatly simplifies managing products, orders and customers.
"Active Purchase is a low overhead, simple interface, ecommerce module for DotNetNuke that does exactly what we and most businesses need," he added.
