Monday's snow storms led to the highest peak in online shopping sales since Christmas, with many Brits stuck at home, according to www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk.

Adverse weather conditions resulted in many workers and students staying at home causing the number of online purchases made rocket by over 390 per cent compared to regular Monday sales figures.

In response to the surge, Mark Pearson, managing director of the site, commented: "Despite the fact that transport around the country has ground to a standstill, online shopping has snowballed.

"I attribute the record to the heaviest snowfall in 18 years, meaning that people are stuck in at home… Online shopping has benefitted because it can in no way be affected by the adverse weather conditions."

More and more young people are sourcing, buying and swamping clothes and fashion items online as a quick and easy way of getting their hands on the latest trends.
