Britons do not like to purchase certain goods before they compare the prices of said items over the internet, it has been claimed.

According to GotYourPriceCheck, British shoppers utilise the internet in order to make sure they are getting the cheapest option on electronic goods.

Lucy Allen, PR director for GotYourPriceCheck, said that over 50 per cent of Brits will check prices in this way and thinks that the trend towards shopping and technology will "absolutely" catch on.

She commented: "Brits feel quite guilty if they don't make a comparison before making a purchasing decision. We want to compare prices and we are going online and comparing prices. 55 per cent said they actually research prices online before shopping in store."

Ms Allen went on to say that some shoppers can end up spending more money than they intend to if they price-check online and then go into stores to buy their chosen items.

"They get distracted as they can touch and feel and see all the products," she added.
