Businesses looking to expand their operations on the internet are looking to Macs as the computers of choice.
That is the view of Parallels, which has pointed out that there continues to be a strong demand for Macs throughout the business world.
This is despite an expected reduction in the number of PC shipments being sent to the UK this year. Research from Gartner has predicted that PC shipments will total 257 million units in 2009, which is 11.9 per cent less than last year.
Bryan Goode, vice-president of business development at Parallels, said that "there is clearly a demand for Macs in business" and workers should be allowed to pick what they want to work on.
"Fundamentally, a happy user is a productive employee so the more that can be done to allow choice between Mac or PC in workplace makes sound business sense," he stated.
He went on to say that many companies are experiencing integration issues in IT departments between PC and Mac users.
The Enterprise Desktop Alliance Survey found that 74 per cent of enterprises with Macs intend to add more.
