Businesses should 'get most out of websites'

Businesses need to get the most they can out of their online resources to thrive in the recession.

In order for businesses to perform well, despite the current economic climate, it is essential that they take advantage of their websites.

While other sectors are struggling, online activity is thriving and Design Uk believes the companies should make the most of this.

It suggested that businesses need to maximise the usability of their websites in order to attract more people to their services and products through the web.

Steve Simmonds, business manager at Design UK, stated: "[For businesses,] getting the most out of a website is the most important thing for this year and the next.

"Rather than doing a complete rebuild, get someone to spend some money on making it work better and increasing information by ten per cent, you then have a lot more impact."

Design UK has boosted online presence for firms as diverse as ntl:Telewest Business, Selfridges and Odeon.
