Businesses should get over 'PC mentality'
In order to improve their businesses through the internet, the "PC mentality" needs to be abandoned, it has been claimed.

ThinkGrid has indicated that there is a trust gap regarding using new technology, such as hosting, and many companies are set in their ways when it comes to the web.

While there has been an increasing amount of interest in the area, lots of businesses are wary about crossing the line.

Rob Lovell, chief executive and co-founder of ThinkGrid, said that there are numerous benefits to be enjoyed once the technology gains trust and understanding.

"Rather than having pockets of IT in your office and your business that you can only access when you're in the office, having it hosted means that you've got that accessibility anywhere and in general you also get better availability," he commented.

"It's just getting that trusting and the credibility that this is a great idea is a thing that will push it even forward at a faster pace than we are seeing."

The International Data Corporation has predicted that the recession will accelerate changes in the IT industry.
