In the future, being seen carrying a computer around could be seen as odd, experts have predicted.
System Concepts has suggested that technology may develop so far that computers will not even be needed.
Instead, surfaces that can access the internet will be readily available and there will be no real need for personal computers.
Tom Stewart, joint managing director of System Concepts, stated: "In the future, carrying a computer round will be as odd [as] having to carry a lighter around now because you go into a room and you're not sure if there's electricity in it.
"That's what computers will be like. You go anywhere and if you need the internet, there will be surface where you will use it."
He added that it is likely that there will be more mobile technology following the footsteps of the likes of Facebook.
