Workers are increasingly using the internet in the office for non work-related browsing, according to a new survey.

Research from BBC News revealed 75 per cent of IT managers and corporate internet users think monitoring and filtering procedures should be put in place to manage the problem.

The research suggested employers need to maximise efficiency by removing distractions for employees – especially with companies struggling in the credit crunch.

Avanquest has launched a number of internet filtering software solutions – ContentProtect Professional and ContentProtect Professional Suite form ContentWatch.

It has been specifically tailored toward business and organisations who need to tackle excessive internet use by their employees.

The product is highly customisable with general settings for an office as well as being able to be used for the needs of each employee.

It can cut non work-related web browsing, increase the time employees have to concentrate on their work and protect offices from the dangers of the internet.
