Internet marketing is likely to outperform other forms of marketing this year, according to a growing number of reports.
The latest voice to suggest that the internet will dominate the marketing world belongs to Eva Berg-Winters, assistant director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Strategy.
Ms Winters has spoken out about her belief that the ways in which users are changing their use of the internet mean that the attraction the medium has to marketers is growing.
"There's...something on media consumption," she explained.
"People are spending more time online, especially during the week but also on the weekends. Our media consumption is changing and that is of course also driving ad dollars."
Accountability and measurability were named by Ms Berg-Winters as two reasons why the internet may move on to attract the greatest investments this year.
With people spending more time online, businesses have a greater chance of benefiting from an online presence today than they may have done even a few years ago.
