MAS launches digital signage blog

Due the growth of out of home media advertising, Minicom Advanced Systems (MAS) is to launch a new business blog that aims to become a central location for digital signage-related news.

The company puts the North American digital signage market, in which advertising and media content is displayed in public on electronic screens rather than posters, at being worth over $3 billion by the end of the decade as it is currently valued at $750 per year.

Such is the clamour for news, discussion and ideas for the future, that MAS believes now is the right time to introduce a blog that will both provide information for web browsers and encourage debate between those already in the market.

"The Minicom digital signage blog combines two technological developments which are becoming more and more prevalent in everyday life," said Eran Kessel, MAS vice-president of marketing.

"Blogs are an effective and valuable means for allowing companies to communicate to the outside world in a more informal way and digital signage has gone from recent innovation to common occurrence."

One of the blog's first topics for discussion is the Screen Expo 2007 in London's Earls Court, which begins today.
