An ecommerce benchmark guide has been released by MarketingSherpa.
The research firm has got the ball rolling by giving away a complementary chapter as PDF download chapter.
The chapter includes eight charts with new data on shopping cart abandonment rates, search engine marketing and email marketing.
Inside the guide is information on how consumers 'see' merchandise category pages – including a four-color heat-map from a new eye-tracking study conducted at the US electrical store, BestBuy.
It also provides data on where 1,913 ecommerce marketers say their traffic comes from – including year-on-year changes in search engine marketing and email as a percent of incoming shopper traffic.
