With the launch of platforms such as WordPad and Blogger, technological skill has largely been taken out of blogging, but the creator of a new voice-to-text system claims even typing could be a thing of the past.
British firm SpinVox provides a number of services that convert speech into text but of most use to business users is the Spin my Blog service, which allows customers to blog from anywhere simply be speaking into their PDAs.
Daniel Doulton explained to e-consultancy.com how the system works: "All the blogger needs to do is call a number and speak the message into it, this is then automatically converted into a blog post.
"Each account comes with a pin number, which can be shared with other bloggers."
Voice recognition technology has been available for many years but the main problem has always been that it simply does not work. But Doulton claims that the Voice Message Conversion System is nearly flawless.
He said: "The technology is rated to be 97 per cent accurate by our users, the system will flag any word it doesn't understand and can learn new words and accents over time."
