Royal Mail and eBay have joined forces to enable eBay sellers to pay for and print postage stamps online, direct from the eBay website.
This will enhance the eBay postage facilities, allowing users to accurately price goods and arrange for collection and delivery, without leaving the auction website.
Users will now be able to print off labels and use electronic stamps from home computers.
Portaltech were commissioned to design the online postage system with Royal Mail and they constructed the software input in the eBay initiative.
Paul Tough, technical director of Portaltech, said: "We are extremely proud to have delivered the online stamp project for Royal Mail and eBay, in particular because it has showcased the skills of our team in being able to manage both high profile technology solutions in multi-supplier and multi-client environments.
"The project hinged on a unique understanding of Royal Mail's web portal technology and third party systems coupled with a rock solid delivery methodology that has allowed eBay to successfully utilise Royal Mail's vision for online postage."
