New tool improves online presence monitoring

Small businesses will have an easier time monitoring their online presence with the introduction of a new tool offered by Google and Salesforce.com.

The collaboration of the companies has resulted in Salesforce Group Edition featuring Google AdWords.

It allows companies to advertise through Google's search engine and associate their adverts with specific keywords, resulting in their ads appearing next to particular search results.

The system will allow user to create AdWords accounts for the service which, according to ComputerWorld, will be available in 14 languages across 43 countries.

Eric Schmidt, Google's CEO, said: "The web has quickly become the most powerful tool small and medium-sized businesses can use to compete and win in today's economy.

"Combining the power and simplicity of Salesforce with Google AdWords helps businesses find and keep customers to ultimately drive their continued success."

This is expected to be the first of many projects on which the two collaborate, with plans for marketing, technology development and distribution in the pipeline.
