Creators of an innovative website to spread the word that 'fat is beautiful' are using Web 2.0 to get the message across.
Dubbed a safehaven for overweight people, fatisbeautiful.com is aimed at promoting a respectful web community which uses modern technology.
The website includes a lot of interactivity which allows users to connect with others and develop a community for overweight people.
The profile-based site is made up of clear, spacious web pages which are not over-clustered with links and advertisements.
Sidney Bitton, one of the site's co-founders, said: "Web 2.0 is an important part of our goal.
"The site is easy to navigate and understand. People can create profiles, post video confessions and meet their soul mate with ease. They can do it all without a masters degree in engineering. It allows users to create and manage their own content and give them that sense of control and freedom they need."
