Tesco launches new campaign site

Tesco has launched a combined website for its two major campaigns this year; Sports for Schools and Clubs and Computers for Schools.

A Drum.co.uk report announced that the supermarket had hired DigForFireDMG to create the website aimed at providing information and resources for the public and organisations involved with the scheme.

There are currently 30,000 organisations involved with the Tesco campaign, and so the new website had to be simple enough for all kinds of establishment to use, while providing comprehensive information at the same time.

Combining both scheme's websites under just one site will likely make life slightly more streamlined for those who require information regarding the campaign.

The decision to offer DigForFireDMG a five-figure sum for the contract also demonstrates the importance of taking good care of the online representation of a business.

With consumers so comfortable 'Googling' for goods and services today there is a great need to be represented online, or face the prospect of missing out on crucial business during the recession.

"The running reminders featured on the website are an excellent new feature, reminding schools and clubs of expiry dates on any vouchers they may have," explained John Fletcher, digital account director at DigForFireDMG in the Drum.co.uk report.

"Access to a range of support material allows users to promote that they are collecting vouchers to a wider audience and maximise any opportunities for shoppers at Tesco to collect on their behalf."
