More than 40,000 people have joined an online group in support of Israel following the attacks in Gaza.
The Facebook group entitled, 'I Support the Israel Defense Forces In Preventing Terror Attacks From Gaza, is the largest pro-Israel support group on the Web.
Created just two hours after the first defensive IDF strikes took place last Saturday, the group has rapidly grown.
Group founder Joel Leyden, an internet media, SEO and PR expert, said: "The internet has become the most important and most powerful media to reach the global masses. Everyone has internet at home and in the office. One can access real time news 24/7."
Leyden helped create the first commercial website in Israel 13 years ago and published the first online news organisation there Israel News Agency.
He said the SEO optimised group has become a medium through which Jews and Israelis around the world can voice their opinions.
Mr Leyden said Facebook was the top "watering hole" on the Web, allowing friendly discussion between those of differing views.
