Video and audio features on business websites will be used increasingly in the future, experts have claimed.

Especially for marketing purposes, using media rich content will grow to be second nature for companies, according to Hostway.

The international hosting firm has suggested that the internet has evolved from a static place to do business to a far more interactive medium.

Phil Turnbull, marketing manager at Hostway, said: "I think video or audio in some shape or form will just become second nature. People have been predicting this for a long time.

"You're allowing people to express themselves a lot more now, so the secret to making it more successful is to make sure that the deliverability is there."

He added that if the quality and delivery of a website's material is not up to scratch, it is "not going to be effective" regardless of how good the content is.

Meanwhile, the first mobile phone to use Wi-Fi for video conferencing has been launched in South Korea by Unidata.
