Women use technology in a different manner to men, according to an IT and politics expert.
There is a fundamental difference between their methods, with women looking to 'simply help' and men intending to do 'simple tasks', Philip Virgo has claimed.
Writing in ComputerWeekly, he commented that political blogs are having a negative influence on the current economic situation and are mainly being run by males.
One reason for this is the opposing way men and women view technology, with the latter seeing it as a way to help and the former a way to complicate, he suggested.
"Women are more interested in how the technology can be used cleverly to serve people simply than in people having to learn how to use clever technology to do simple tasks."
A study from European Diversity Research and Consulting has found that 100 per cent of Stoxx 50 companies in Britain included diversity in their annual reports.
